How to prepare for our first lesson

      1) Get a Binder (any 1”-2” binder will do)

2) Make a list of  12 songs you really want to sing or play on guitar, put this list in your binder.

3) Please purchase blank recordable CD’s and keep several in the binder at all times.

4) Arrive to lesson on time

5) Relax, you don’t have to sing or play guitar in the first lesson!

      First Lesson Plan

1)  Learn about the anatomy and mechanics of singing or playing guitar correctly (Handouts given)

2)  Talk about student’s personal goals

3)  Pick one song from your list to sing.  This song will be used to learn basics.  The focus on this song will be 4-6 weeks until skills are set firmly in place and the student can hear, feel and experience the changes in vocal and guitar strength and ability. NOTE: pick a song you really have a passion to learn otherwise you may tire of the material before it’s time to move on to the next song.

If KCS has Background music (Karaoke) in the library for the song chosen, it is given to the student at no charge.  If we don’t have the desired music in our library, it is the student’s responsibility to purchase background music for their lessons.
